Dislocation Mechanisms and Local Strength with a View towards Sleeper Screw Failures

چکیده
Dislocation structures can be directly related to the fatigue properties of metals, such as strength, including limit and saturation stress. We present an indirect dislocation-structure-based method evaluate local stresses for in-depth analysis sleeper screw failures, there is little knowledge about load these failures. The screw, fastening baseplates rails sleepers, a small but critical component in railway. High loads from passing trains are transferred screws, leading cyclic straining. In study, three stress-level tension experiments designed constant stress mode at ratio R = 0 testing frequency 10 Hz. microstructures failed specimens characterized compared with those close fracture surface screws that field. dislocation structure similarities differences analyzed, potential proposed methodology discussed.

Image Location for Screw Dislocation—A New Point of View
An infinite plane problem with a circular boundary under the screw dislocation is solved by using a new method. The angle-based fundamental solution for screw dislocation is expanded into degenerate kernel. Our method can explain why the image screw dislocation is required. Besides, the location of the image point can be obtained easily by using degenerate kernel after satisfying boundary condi...
متن کاملThe interaction mechanisms of a screw dislocation with a defective coherent twin boundary in copper
∑ 3{111} coherent twin boundary (CTB) in face-centered-cubic (FCC) metals and alloys have been regarded as an efficient way to simultaneously increase strength and ductility at the nanoscale. Extensive study of dislocation-CTB interaction has been carried out by a combination of computer simulations, experiments and continuum theory. Most of them, however, are based on the perfect CTB assumptio...
متن کاملComparison of Acute Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation Treatment by Screw Fixation with and without Ligament Reconstruction
Background & Aims: Acute acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation is common in shoulder injuries. Considering the biomechanics of this joint, the use of a treatment method, which can restore joint physiology and biomechanics to the extent possible, is important. This study aimed to compare the treatment of acute AC joint dislocation by screw fixation with and without ligament reconstruction. Me...
متن کاملScrew dislocation interacting with imperfect interface
The study of dislocations interacting with interfaces is of great interest to understand the strengthening and hardening mechanisms in materials. Most of the existing results in this field dealt with perfect interfaces where the displacements are continuous across interfaces. In reality, however, due to damage of interfaces or other reasons, the displacements across interfaces could have a jump...
متن کاملExploring Integrative Mechanisms with a View towards Design for Integration
The integrated product development (IPD) paradigm has gained recognition as a preferred approach to product development. In complex system development programs, the concurrent engineering aspect of IPD is often approached through the use of integrated product teams (IPTs), each assigned to develop various components of the overall system. Many have struggled to determine the characteristics of ...
